We Will be "Sorting Toys and  making Angel Bags" on December 17,  at the Toy Warehouse.  It is located at 5712 S. Holden Road beside the K & W Cafeteria  in Holden Crossing. Lets plan on meeting for lunch and volunteering or both (see schedule).

A sign-up genius (online signup) will be sent out this week to choose who you would like to adopt and/or what you want to buy?  We have a family of 5.  We have 4 children and the mother.

Jose is 12 years old and would like a bike, basketball and PS 3 games. Code Number is GB0412D 

Nasir is 11 years old and would like drawing supplies, football and RC helicopter. Code Number is GB0412B

Dahron is 3 years old and would like an Inc Hulk, bike, and a Leap Frog. Code Number is GB0412A

Colleena is 8 years old and would like dress up clothes, baby doll and nail polish. Code Number is GB0412C

Wrapping paper and bows for mother to wrap the presents.

If we would like to get Mom a gift, a Wal-Mart gift card to buy food for a nice Christmas dinner or needed personal items.  Please place the gift card in a sealed envelope and write Mom on the envelope.

Directions:

1. Do not wrap the gifts, as mom likes to see what the kids are getting for Christmas.

2.Make sure each gift has your child's name and code number.

3. Return your gifts to me by Thursday, December 5.  I must deliver them by Friday, December 6.

I am so excited to let you all know that our Silpada Party FUNdraiser has already raised over $1000. For our local philanthropies!!! Wow!! Think of all the great things we can do!! Thank you to Betsy! You are a wonderful hostess!! Loved playing dress up with jewelry and enjoying a fun girls’ night with our sisters, guests and Betsy’s fabulous neighbors!!! There were so many generous orders from everyone! It was so much fun!

LET’S NOT STOP HERE!!! I’ve been asked to leave the party open for those who weren’t able to make it and for those who still have some friends/family that want to order!

A couple of weeks ago Rachael attended the Open House for the NC Beta Chapter at Duke University. Their actual space on campus is a duplex in which one of the units has been turned into a common room space for the chapter and is decorated very cute!

The girls absolutely loved the flowers and were touched that you all remembered them!

So Much Exciting News to Share!

First of all . . we had a wonderful time at our 1st meeting of the season. To celebrate our heritage, we partook in a Cookie Shine. What fun it is to be a Pi Beta Phi!

                                                                                                    Thank you to everyone who collected toiletries for the Sanctuary House!

 

We are happy to report that HOPE academy now as a wonderful addition to their library, graphic novels were presented to the students on Wednesday, Sept. 25th from the Piedmont Pi Phi's. We look forward to our continued collaboration with the school.

 

 

DUES: If you haven't already paid your dues, you can send them to Carol Carpenter ($40). $35 goes to pay your national dues, and $5 stays with our local chapter. 

Finally - please make sure to see the newly added SILPADA link.  We are excited about our upcoming fundraiser (see calendar), but would like to offer the link now to anyone who wants to share with friends and family!  Remember . . . 30% of the profit comes directly back to support our local philanthropies.

The  Piedmont Triad Pi Beta Phi Alumnae Club board met last week and we are VERY EXCITED to share this years upcoming events! Mark your calendars for the first meeting/Cookie Shine in September! Ring Ching Ching!

Thanks to everyone who donated school supplies!  We had enough school supplies to fill a grocery shopping cart!!! Jackie Lucas at Center of Hope was very appreciative.  Items donated were: 28 packs of Loose Leaf Notebook paper, 6 2" 3 Ring Binders, 12 Pencil Pouches, 12 packs of Write on Dividers, 12 packs of Colored Pencils, 28  Glue Sticks, several packages of erasers, a box of Pencil sharpeners, 28 boxes of Colored Markers, 14 pairs of scissors, several packages of red, black and blue pens, 28 spiral 1 subject notebooks, 14 boxes of crayons, 14 packs of Index Cards and 5 boxes of Ziplock Bags.  Additionally, we also were able to drop off a Back to School bag of goodies to Hope Academy!  Thanks to RAE LYNN for collecting and bringing our goodies to the Center of Hope!  Way to go PIEDMONT PI PHIS!

 
What a Beautiful Wine & Arrow Celebration!  Thank you Anne for hosting and thank you everyone who came.  We missed those of you who couldn't make it - but you were in our thoughts!

Cost - about $10(per person depending on how many people sign up).

Dinner - bring a dish to share - see list below to sign up for something specific. I will let everyone know how many we are expecting so we don't over do it on the food. We really just want a sample. If you are busy, you can always get a small to serving of most of these items from places like Maria's or Whole Foods or if you have time - making something is always terrific. Anne will get the wine and get them cold and set us up a nice place hopefully on the patio!

Calling all ANGLES!
NEED:  Guardian Angels
We have some Pi Phis in the area who aren't currently active members
of our wonderful club.  I would love to put together a group of
"Guardian Angels" who can call/write these sisters to personally
invite them to our Piedmont Pi Phi meetings.
If you can be a Guardian Angel for one or two ladies, please let me

 Greensboro Salvation Army - Community Luncheon

                                          

The Piedmont Pi Beta Phi Club has been invited to attend a luncheon on Tuesday, March 19th at 12:00 noon to see how your Greensboro Salvation Army is helping those in need in our community. Our one hour presentation will highlight our volunteer opportunities and programs, and include a tour of our homeless shelter.
