Piedmont Pi Beta Phi Alumnae Club: Dr. Seuss at Center of Hope

This is always one of the highlights of the year. We take books to the children at Center of hope and have a Dr. Seuss party.

2011-2012 Calendar of Events

Our first meeting will be October 6, 7:00pm at the home of Betsy Bullard. Please bring toiletries for Sanctuary House and chapter books for Grades K-3.

Our December 6th meeting will be held at Amy Callaghan’s home. We will make cards for the fundraiser. Dr. Seuss will be in March and the April meeting will be our Founders Day program.

Amy's address: 708 Northern Shores It is a yellow house and she has frostys (snowmen) on the steps. Note: Amy's house is in Lake jeanette Northern Shores. Do not use mapquest or you will end up in Guilford college!!

The Barnes and Noble fundraiser will be the last Saturday before Christmas on 12/17.

Pi Phi Luncheon will be on Tuesday, 1/31/12 at NICOS downtown at 12:30.

Beau and Arrow Ball: TBD

Founders Days will be Thursday, April 26. Please save the date.

Pi Phi Dream Cookies

1 cup butter
2 cups sifted flour
2 tsp vanilla
3/4 cup sugar
1 tsp baking powder
50 blanched almond halves

Melt and brown butter slightly; cool. Add sugar; beat until fluffy. Add sifted dry ingredients, then vanilla'; blend well. Shape dough into walnut-sized balls; press an almond into each. Bake on lightly greased baking sheet at 250 degrees for about 30 minutes. This makes about 50 cookies.
